Mrs. Mowery

I'm Mrs. Mowery and I am excited to start my first year at Central Columbia as the new 7th-grade math teacher.  I have worked in education since 2009 as a secondary mathematics/computer science teacher and K-12 Gifted Support teacher.  Over my experience, I've taught at various levels but middle school has always been my favorite.  I am super excited about having the opportunity to share my love of mathematics and problem-solving with my students!

I am a 2004 Central Columbia graduate and began my college career at Cedar Crest College where I was a scholar athlete on the women's basketball and softball teams.  I transferred and finished my Bachelor degree at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education.  I've always had an interest in technology, and in August of 2016 completed my Master degree at Bloomsburg University in Instructional Technology.  I'm also working toward the completion of the STEM (Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering) Endorsement at Wilkes University and I am a certified AP Computer Science Principles teacher through the CollgeBoard.  Exploring how technologies can improve classroom education is a goal of mine, and we will be trying to utilize as many tech tools as we can throughout the year.

When I'm not teaching or looking for new ways to challenge my students, I spend time with my husband and our new son, Wade, on our farm.  Mr. Mowery and I also have 3 fur children: Cooper, an Australian shepherd, Callie, a beagle, and Carson, a German Shepherd.  I also enjoy hunting and coaching girls' basketball and softball.
